Four foodie delights not to miss this Discover Farming festival

The Discover Farming Festival is back in Goondiwindi this May, with a focus on showcasing the best food and produce the Border Rivers region has to offer.

With over 15 local producers jumping on the bandwagon for the second annual Discover Farming Festival, there will be a whole range of delicious local food options to sample over the course of the festival.

If you can’t make it to ‘Gather’ our signature cocktail evening or Opera in the Gardens, where mouth-watering local produce is on the menu, come along to our very own Secret Eat Street or the Walking Food Tour to sample some of what the Goondiwindi region has to offer or watch the Two Old Ducks cook up a storm using local product at the Goondiwindi Show on the first weekend in May.

Here are our top 4 foodie delights not to miss this May:

  1. Barambah Organics – One of Australia’s premier organic dairy operation, Barambah is 100% Australian owned and committed to producing high-quality, organic dairy products that are not only good for your health but also delicious. International, Australian and QLD award winners for their milk, yoghurt and cheese ranges, Barambah produce can be purchased at over 800 outlets across Australia, including Goondiwindi’s very own Foodworks and will be featured in several events during the Discover Farming Festival in May.

  2. Gooralie Free Range Pork – Australia’s longest running and QLD’s only RSPCA approved piggery, Gooralie Pork literally melts in your mouth. Completely family run and operated don’t miss out on sampling some of this delicious product at several events being held in May as a part of the Discover Farming Festival.

  3. Inglewood Farms – Australia’s leading producer of organic, free-range chicken, Inglewood Farms is dedicated to rearing organic, ethical and environmentally sustainable chicken. Start the 2019 Discover Farming Festival with Inglewood Farms, as the Two Old Ducks do their famous cooking demonstrations with some delicious Inglewood chicken, then join Inglewood Farms at our several foodie events throughout May.

  4. Smithfield Cattle Co – Smithfield Cattle Company is a family owned, state of the art cattle operation, growing, and marketing cattle both domestically and internationally. With one of their feedlots located right here in the Goondiwindi Region, they produce mouth-watering beef for some of the largest beef suppliers in Australia – including Jacks Creek Beef, who were named winners of the ‘World’s Best Steak’ in 2015 and 2016 and the ‘World’s Best Fillet Steak’ in 2017.
