Opera in the Gardens to light up Goondiwindi in aid of cancer research

The Discover Farming Festival is coming to Goondiwindi again this May, bigger and better than ever before, with entertainment and foodie events being added to the busy May schedule.

Sure to bring in the crowds during this year’s festival, the Opera in the Gardens entertainment evening will set the stage for a fun month of entertainment, local food and community spirit.

To be held on the 11th of May at the iconic Goondiwindi Botanical Gardens of the Western Woodlands from 5pm, Opera in the Gardens is the perfect opportunity for locals and visitors alike to explore the native flora of Southern Queensland, sample some delectable local produce on the menu for the night and enjoy some excellent music from stars of the Australian opera scene.

Join Louise Dorsman, Nikki Hill, Glenn Lorimer, Douglas Macrae and Kylie Los on stage, as they perform some amazing opera arias, enjoyable for all ages, with proceeds going to the Cancer Council. Beautifully accompanying the evening will also be music from the High School String Ensemble.

Tickets are on sale now for $80, which includes food and a complimentary glass of Sparkling Prosecco. Delightful wines from Symphony Wines - sourced from the famous Stanthorpe vineyards - will be available to purchase on the night. Don’t miss out on this amazing one off opportunity coming to Goondiwindi.

Dress code for the night is cocktail, but don’t forget a warm wrap or jackets as the evening can be cool in May, parking is available alongside the road and will be directed by Rotary volunteers and buses will be running ever 15 minutes from 4:30 to 6:00pm from the Victoria Hotel in the centre of town.
