The 2019 Discover Farming Festival is going to be bigger and better than the inaugural festival in 2018, with the introduction of three key events to make their debut this May.
Opera in the Gardens, Secret Eat Street and the Goondiwindi Saleyards Tour are three new events that will truly highlight what Goondiwindi has to offer, with entertainment, local produce and one of Goondiwindi’s most iconic, agricultural locations, all on the menu.
Opera in the Gardens is set to be a fun night of live entertainment and gourmet local produce that
will really set the tone for the rest of the Discover Farming Festival. Come long to the Goondiwindi Botanical Gardens of the Western Woodlands, sit back and relax to some live opera, enjoy some excellent local food, all sourced from local producers and taste some beautiful wine from the nearby Stanthorpe vineyards.
Not to mention, don’t forget to have a look around our fantastic botanical gardens, featuring flora native
to the Darling Downs.
The Discover Farming Festival will be set alight by the Secret Eat Street, held on the third Saturday in May.
The Secret Eat Street is exactly that, an eat street like event held in a secret location, showcasing food and produce sourced from every corner of the Goondiwindi region. Come along, set your taste buds alight and enjoy our very
own Eat Street.
But before you sit back and relax at Opera in the Gardens and our very own Secret Eat Street, join us
for full tour though what has historically been one of the economic backbones of the local agricultural industry,
the Goondiwindi Saleyards. Come and have a look through the yards, learn how a livestock sale really takes place by witnessing a live cattle sale and finish the morning with a traditional cattleman’s morning tea. This is not an event to miss out on if you are after a true agricultural experience.
